Matt's First Rant

You know, I'm not really sure what direction this blog is going to go. I am sure lots of it will be political. Some will have to do with marketing. And you know me; I'll have a few things to say about feeling good about yourself and - of course - having a good time. So, what's the first subject?

That's easy - hypocrisy.

Definition of HYPOCRISY
1: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion
2: an act or instance of hypocrisy

Now, of whom do I speak? Well, I would say they know who they are, but the freaky thing is, most people who are hypocrites have NO IDEA they're doing it. In their warped mind, they think they are being honest, forthright and caring. But eventually, there will appear a mirror in front of them and they will realize just how hypocritical they have been all along. Now, this doesn't always happen during their lifetime; but you can rest assured it'll happen when they're standing in front of God. All doubt will be washed away - it WILL happen - they WILL learn.
So, until the mirror appears to show them for what they are, the rest of the world will be aware (those that are paying attention that is) and will HOPEFULLY learn how NOT to be. Let me give you an example.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi seems to be an intelligent person. I mean, she's the SPEAKER for crying out loud - I would think that would be a mark of distinction, wouldn't you? BUT!!! While she tells us Americans that she is doing the right things for us, she is not holding herself - or any other Congress-person for that matter - to the same standard. When Congress passes a law stating that their rules will be the same as ours every time, THEN and ONLY THEN will the hypocrisy start winding down. By doing that, by making that change, Nancy will change my opinion about her a little. She'd have a lot more to live down, but it'd be a good start.

I have no idea if any politicians will ever read this, but if they do, I hope they take at least this away from it: THINK about what your decision means to the rest of the country, state, county or town you represent. If you would not want to live by that rule, I doubt anyone else will want to either. Nancy is still a Goose - I am still a Gander - get the picture?

More to come - thanks for reading
